DORIE GREENSPAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES image

Yield 2 to 3 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cups flour
1 tsp salt (can be more if you like salt)
3/4 tsp baking soda
2 sticks (8oz) unsalted butter at room temp
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
12 oz chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
1 cup walnuts or pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 Line two baking sheets with parchment paper Whisk together flour, salt and baking soda Working with a stand mixer beat butter on medium speed for about 1 minute until smooth. Add the sugars and beat in the vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time. Reduce mixer speed to low and add the dry ingredients in 3 batches. Add the chocolate chip and nuts on low speed or by hand. Spoon dough onto baking sheets and bake 10-12 minutes until cookies ae borwn around the edges and golden in the center. Let rest 10 minutes before moving them to cooling racks.
