Dip and Fried Green Beans image

These are up there with fried pickles and I can.t leave out fried green tomato....Last spring my husband and I went to Red River here in NM and I ordered these off of the menu...As you can tell I fell in cooking and eating love with them. They are so simple and amazing.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c yellow cornmeal
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp baking powder
1 lb green beans, fresh
1 qt cooking oil
JODIES HOT DIPPING SAUCE (LINK BELOW)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oil to 375* Tip, wash and pat dry on paper towel (green beans) In a bowl mix all dry ingredients, add milk (stir), add beaten egg (stir) till smooth, no lumps.
  • 2. Dip green beans in batter and place in hot oil for 2-3 minutes turning for and even crisp. I use a basket to fry mine in. Do it in batches. They will be golden crisp in color. Drain on a paper towel
