Deep-Dish Pizza Casserole image

I have had this recipe for years and my family just loves it! I sometimes add a can of mushrooms to it. it is very tasty.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pound(s) ground beef
1 - 15 oz can chunky italian-style tomato sauce
- cooking spray
1 - 10 oz can refrigerated pizza crust dough
1 1/2 cup(s) preshredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425
  • Cook meat in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stirring until it crumbles. Drain, if necessary, and return to skillet. Add tomato sauce, and cook until heated.
  • While meat cooks, coat a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Unroll pizza dough, and press into bottom and half way up sides of baking dish, Top bottom of crust with meat mixture.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 425 for 12 minutes. Top with cheese, and bake 5 more minutes or until crust is browned and the cheese melts. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
