Crescent Roll Apple Turnovers image

This sweet pastry is delicious hot or cold. Topped with caramel sauce that makes this rich dessert look like you went to a lot of trouble when you didn't! You could serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

6 medium apples - peeled, cored, and diced small
¼ cup dark brown sugar
¼ cup water
¼ cup cold salted butter, cut into small pieces
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
2 tablespoons caramel sauce, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine apples, brown sugar, water, butter, flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl; mix to combine.
  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Scoop 1 tablespoon apple mixture into the center of each triangle and fold into a package, making sure the ends are sealed. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce on each turnover.
