I got this recipe from my sister's mother in law. This is a great sauce to serve on hot dogs. No one in my family will eat a hot dog without coney sauce now. Everytime I serve this people always ask for the recipe. I freeze this in ice cube trays and two cubes thawed will cover a hot dog. We always have it on hand.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 pound(s) ground beef
1 cup(s) water
few dash(es) hot sauce
dash(es) black pepper
1 - medium onion, chopped really fine
2 tablespoon(s) dry mustard
2 tablespoon(s) chili powder
1 bottle(s) chili sauce (i use heintz)

Steps:

  • Combie the hamburger, water, hot sauce, black pepper and onion. Break down the hamburger as fine as you can. You don't want large chunks. (Don't brown the beef before adding the water) I also just pulse the onion in my small food processor and make it more of a onion paste.
  • Add the remaining ingredients when the meat is no longer pink. Simmer for 1 hour on low.
