CHICKEN WITH POMEGRANATE SAUCE image

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 1/2 chicken fryers
2 c walnuts
4 tbl olive oil
3 1/2 c water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbl lemon juice
1 large onion, finely chopped
2-3 tbl pomegranate syrup
2 tbl tomato sauce
1 tsp sugar

Steps:

  • wash and prepare chicken for frying saute in olive oil until brown on all side-or bake for 45 minutes at 350-put aside saute onions until golden add tomato sauce-saute for a few minutes add walnuts,continue to saute, taking care not to burn add water,seasonings, lemon juice and pomegranate syrup cover,cook for about 35 minutes-it too sour, add more sugar arrange sauteed chicken over sauce=simmer for an additional 20 minutes-serve over white rice
