CHICKEN DUMPLINGS WITH SESAME DIPPING SAUCE image

Yield Makes 24 dumplings

Number Of Ingredients 16

Dumplings:
1/2 pound ground chicken
1/4 cup thinly sliced scallions
1/4 cup minced canned water chestnuts
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
4 teaspoons lower-sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly groun black pepper
24 wonton wrappers (3-inch square)
Sesame dipping sauce:
1/4 cup lower-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup thinly sliced scallions

Steps:

  • 1. In medium bowl, combine chicken, scallions, water chestnuts, cilantro, soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper, mix well. 2. Keep wonton wrappers loosely covered with dampened cloth. With point of wonton facing you, place generous teaspoonful og filling in bottom half of wrapper. With moistened finger or pastry brush, moisten 2 sides of wonton. Fold 2 moistened sides over filling and press to seal and form triangle. 3. Make the Sesame Dipping Sauce. In small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, sugar and scallions. 4. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add dumplings and cook 4 minutes or until dumplings float to surface and chicken is cooked through (Filling will be firm to touch). Drain. Server with dipping sauce.
