Brie en Croute image

1 Tbsp. butter
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, chopped
1 Anjou pear, peeled, chopped
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbsp. GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard
3 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cooked, crumbled
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 frozen puff pastry sheet (1/2 of 17.3-oz. pkg.), thawed
1 Brie cheese round (8 oz.), cut horizontally in half
1 egg
1 Tbsp. water

Steps:

  • Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add apples and pears; cook 7 min., stirring frequently. Stir in honey and mustard; cook 10 min., stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Add bacon; mix well. Cool completely.
  • Heat oven to 400°F. Roll out pastry sheet into 14-inch square on lightly floured surface. Place bottom half of Brie round on center of square; top with half each of the fruit mixture and nuts. Repeat layers.
  • Gather edges of pastry dough over cheese, pleating edges as necessary; tie closed with kitchen twine. Place on parchment-covered baking sheet.
  • Whisk egg and water until blended; brush onto dough.
  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until pastry is golden brown. Remove cheese from oven. Let stand 5 min. before cutting off and discarding the twine.
  • Serve cheese warm.
