BEEF MACARONI SKILLET image

Received this and many recipes from a friend who loves to share his recipes with me! And I am so glad!! He raved about this one and I was very impressed how good it turned out!!

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 Tbsp butter
1 medium onion, chopped
3 clove garlic, chopped
1 lb lean ground beef
3 c tomato juice
1 can(s) tomato sauce-small size 6oz
2 Tbsp italian parsley, chopped
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
1 c uncooked elbow macaroni
1 bay leaf
3/4 c cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter and cook onion 4-5 minutes. Add garlic & saute 1-2 mins. Put aside in a bowl. Now cook ground beef, until no longer pink. Drain off any fat. Add onion and garlic to beef. Next add all other ingredients - except cheese.
  • 2. Cover tightly and simmer until macaroni is done, stirring occassionally. Takes about 25-30 mins. When done add your grated cheddar cheese. It will melt nicely! (Take out the bay leaf!!)
  • 3. Note: Sauteed fresh mushrooms may also be added! (I did not try them, but I will next time. It would be a good addition to this dish.
