Beef Broccoli with Oyster Sauce image

It's a basic recipe for Chinese food, you can taste the authenticity of the flavor.

½ lb beef tenderloin, cut into bite size
½ lb fresh broccoli, cut into florets
2 clove garlic, minced
2 Tbsp peanut oil
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp chinese rice cooking wine
FOR SAUCE:
½ c beef stock, unsalted
1 Tbsp oyster sauce
½ Tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp sesame oil

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium bowl, marinate the meat with cornstarch, soy sauce, and rice cooking wine. Mix until well combined, set aside.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients, set aside.
  • 3. Heat peanut oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Cook and brown the beef for 1-2 minutes each side, then transfer the beef into a plate, set aside.
  • 4. Add garlic into a skillet, cook for 20 seconds and add broccoli, and cook for 1 minute. Pour the sauce, stir to a simmer and then add the beef. Cook until the sauce is thickened and bubbling. Turn the heat off.
  • 5. Serve immediately with rice.
