Banana Cream Cheese Cake image

For those who love bananas like I do you will be more than satisfied. The first time I had it was with my mother at a very well known restaurant in Florida where the famous pastry chef dared to share his recipe ...Somehow he asked me to keep it secret so I am not able to divulge his name and the name of that restaurant. It is worth trying...

Number Of Ingredients 11

CRUST
20 - sugar cookies
1/3 cup(s) butter, melted
FILLING
24 ounce(s) cream cheese
2/3 cup(s) brown sugar, light
2 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
3 large eggs
1 cup(s) banana,mashed
1/4 cup(s) heavy cream
1/4 can(s) creme de banana

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven at 350. Place cookies in a blender or food processor pulse until finely crushed. Add butter pulse until well blended. Press crumbs onto a 10" spring form pan. Refrigerate.
  • Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Add sugar and cornstarch beat until blended. Add eggs one at the time beating well after each addition. Beat in bananas, cream and liquor.
  • Pour cream cheese mixture into the the prepared crust. Bake for 15 minutes then reduce the oven temperature to 200 degrees than bake for about 75 minutes or until the center is almost set. Cool it before removing rim of the pan. Refrigerate the cake for AT LEAST 8 HOURS.
