Number Of Ingredients 6

2 bottles (32 ounces each) cranberry juice, chilled
1 cup lemon juice
2/3 cup sugar
1 bottle (33.8 ounces) blood orange Italian soda, chilled
Ice cubes
Wax candy fangs

Steps:

  • In a large punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice, lemon juice and sugar; stir until sugar is dissolved. Just before serving, add the soda, ice and candy fangs.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 bottles (25 ounces each) blood orange juice, chilled
3 cans (12 ounces each) natural orange soda (such as San Pellegrino Aranciata), chilled
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
8 ounces light rum (such as Appletons)
5 dashes bitters
1 blood orange or orange, cut into 1/4-inch-thick wedges and frozen

Steps:

  • Fill ice cube trays with 1 1/2 cups orange juice, and freeze. To make punch, stir remaining orange juice, soda, lime juice, rum, and bitters into a 16-cup punch bowl. Before serving, add frozen orange slices. Add ice cubes as needed to keep chilled.

1 cup sugar
3 cups blood orange juice
1 cup tart cherry juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from 2 to 3 lemons)
1 cup tequila or mezcal (optional)
Red gel icing, for decorating

Steps:

  • Make the simple syrup: Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.
  • Combine the blood orange juice, cherry juice, lemon juice, chilled simple syrup and 2 cups cold water in a pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 30 minutes.
  • Just before serving, stir the tequila into the punch, if using. Decorate the rim of the pitcher with red gel icing, allowing some to drip down the side. Serve over ice.

4 cups blood-orange juice
8 allspice berries
2 cinnamon sticks, each 3 inches long
1 star-anise pod
5 cloves
2 cups orange juice, chilled
1 orange, thinly sliced into rounds, for garnish
Sparkling dry white wine, such as Prosecco or Cava, chilled
Sparkling mineral water, chilled
Vodka, chilled

Steps:

  • Combine 2 cups blood-orange juice and spices in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to a container, cover, and refrigerate at least 12 hours and up to 1 day. Pour mulled juice through a fine sieve into a punch bowl; discard spices. Stir remaining 2 cups blood-orange juice and regular orange juice into mulled mixture and garnish with orange rounds. Serve as is or topped with sparkling wine, sparkling water, or vodka.

BRANDY AND BLOOD ORANGE PUNCH

Living in Paris, I fell in love with brandy and citrus cocktails. This punch is a riff on that, perfect for a party.

2 blood oranges, sliced thin horizontally
1/2 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup orange juice
16 ounces lemon lime soda
1 cup blood orange juice
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
8 ounces brandy
2 ounces raspberry or blackberry liqueur, such as Chambord
2 ounces peach schnapps
16 ounces seltzer water

Steps:

  • In a 4-quart bowl, arrange 1 sliced blood orange in concentric circles. Add the blackberries and cover with the orange juice and lemon lime soda. Place in the freezer overnight.
  • In a punch bowl, add the ice block, blood orange juice, lime juice, lemon juice, brandy, raspberry or blackberry liqueur and peach schnapps. Pour in the seltzer. Ladle into rocks glasses or stemless wine glasses and serve chilled.

Blood orange punch is a recipe inspired by my general manager at Dama, Marco Ramos. It's his specialty.

6 ounces dark rum
6 ounces white rum
5 ounces blood orange juice
5 ounces orgeat (almond syrup)
3 ounces lemon juice
2 pinches kosher salt
Lemon peels, for garnish
Dry ice pellets, for serving

Steps:

  • Add the dark and white rum, blood orange juice, orgeat, lemon juice and salt to a large pitcher, stirring to combine. Pour over ice-filled rocks glasses and garnish each glass with a lemon peel.
  • To serve: Add dry ice pellets to a large, shallow platter. Put the glasses on the platter, surrounding each glass with the dry ice but being careful not to touch the pellets with your hands. Carefully serve the drinks on the platter.

SYRUP
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 lemon, sliced
1 orange, sliced
NONALCOHOLIC PUNCH
1 1/2 quarts (6 cups) raspberry-cranberry drink
ALCOHOLIC PUNCH
2 (750 ml) bottles (6 cups) dry red wine

Steps:

  • In small saucepan, combine all syrup ingredients; mix well. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes.
  • Strain syrup. Cool slightly. Refrigerate syrup at least 3 hours or until serving time.
  • At serving time, place half of prepared syrup (about 1 1/4 cups) in each of 2 large saucepans. To one add raspberry-cranberry drink. To the other add wine. Simmer each over low heat until thoroughly heated. Serve hot with cinnamon sticks and citrus twists, if desired.
