MIMI'S GREEN CHILE CORN CASSEROLE BREAD

This is a sort-of cornbread recipe. It isn't exactly cornbread but it is exactly good! It is good with meats and beans, too.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 can(s) creamed corn
1 cup(s) bisquick
1/2 cup(s) milk
1 - egg, beaten
2 tablespoon(s) oil
1 can(s) whole green chiles, drained and seeds rinsed off
6 ounce(s) monterey jack or pepper jack cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan. I usually put butter in the pan and then put it in the oven to melt while I mix the ingredients.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients. Spread 1/2 of batter in pan. Cover with green chiles and then grated cheese. Top with the rest of the batter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Does not get as dry as a cornbread does, should still be soft and very moist.
