A favorite spring and summertime drink of mine, using fresh or dried lavender and lemons from the garden. Wonderfully refreshing! May be served cold over ice, or hot with honey. Adapted from "The Ultimate Liquor-Free Drink Guide" by Sharon Tyler Herbst.

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 cups water (divided use)
1/4 cup organic fresh edible lavender, well rinsed (or 1-2 tablespoons dried lavender)
1 fresh lemon, zest of
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup sugar (preferably superfine)
lemon slice, to garnish

Steps:

  • Bring 1 cup water to a boil. Add the lavender and lemon zest; cover and steep for 1 hour.
  • Strain the lavender mixture into a 2-quart or larger pitcher. Add lemon juice, sugar and remaining 3 cups water; stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Serve in tall, ice-filled glasses, garnished with lemon slices (or serve hot with honey, as you wish). Top up with additional water, if desired, or to taste.

Lavender Lemonade is a fragrant, refreshing, and beautiful drink. This Lavender Lemonade Recipe is the ultimate party drink to make for baby shower drinks, wedding showers, Summer BBQs, and more! Cheers to Spring! This Purple Lemonade is such a pretty sip to bring to any party.

6 cups water (divided)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
3 Tbsp dried lavender
2 cups lemon juice
Lemon slices and lavender petals for garnish
Blue or purple food coloring (optional)

Steps:

  • Over medium heat, combine two cups of water and sugar, bringing to a boil until sugar is dissolved. Turn off of the heat and stir in honey and lavender.
  • Allow mixture to steep for 2 hours (less if you want less of a lavender taste). Strain the liquid, pressing the lavender down to make sure you get all of those juices into your mixture!
  • In a large pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice, lavender mixture and water.
  • Feel free to add a couple drops of blue or purple food coloring if you want more color than the lavender provides. Makes the lemonade especially cute for those brunches! Serve over ice.
  • Enjoy!

I have always loved iced tea with lemon, and this irresistible thirst-quencher takes it one step further. The lemonade gives this refreshing drink a nice color, too. -Gail Buss, New Bern, North Carolina

3 quarts water
9 tea bags
3/4 to 1-1/4 cups sugar
1 can (12 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
Lemon slices, optional

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, bring water to a boil. Remove from the heat; add tea bags. Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea bags. Stir in sugar and lemonade concentrate. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice. If desired, garnish with lemon slices.
