- In a large skillet, cook the beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in next nine ingredients. Spoon into a greased 3-qt. baking dish; sprinkle with cheese. , Cover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until heated through.

Steps:
- FOR SAUCE: add all ingredients in small sauce pan over very low heat.
- FOR TOPPINGS: cook bacon and crumble. Cook mushrooms, onion and red bell in small amount of olive oil.
- FOR JOHNNY CAKE: add all dry ingredients and mix together. Add milk and egg, combine and cook on hot greased griddle flipping once.
- Top Johnny cake with cooked topping, drizzle sauce overtop and add green onion and crumbling cheese as garnish.
