2 cups vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Heat maple syrup in microwave for 15 seconds, or on top of stove until warm.
  • Toast walnuts in toaster oven or in dry skillet on top of stove, 2-3 minutes.
  • Put vanilla ice cream in dish.
  • Top with maple syrup and walnuts.
  • Enjoy!

3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1-1/4 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
Ice cream or pound cake

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine the corn syrup, maple syrup, sugar and water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in walnuts. , Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 25 minutes. Serve over ice cream or pound cake. Store in the refrigerator.

1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 walnuts, chopped

  • In a heavy saucepot combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, butter and water.
  • Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Over low heat simmer until slightly thickened which takes about ten minutes.
  • Stir in the cream, vanilla, and nuts.
  • Cool to room temperature before using so it will thicken to right consistency.
  • Makes 1 cup of sauce.
