Meat gravy that I've been making a lot lately.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 lb ground turkey
2 to 3 c water or just to cover top of meat
1/4 c cornstarch
(season to taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Brown 2 lbs. of ground turkey in a large skillet and season. Reduce heat to low when meat is done and add water and sprinkle cornstarch** evenly over meat and water then mix. Turn heat to high and let come to a boil and stir as the meat mixture thickens. Reduce heat to low and season to taste. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes or hamburger buns. **You can add more or less water or cornstarch depending on how thick you like your gravy.

2/3 lb. ground turkey
1/3 lb. mild Italian sausage
½ c. bread crumbs
¼ c. chopped Italian parsley
¼ c. chopped white onion
½ tsp. celery salt
½ tsp pepper
1 egg
2 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup cold water
½ c. Newcastle Brown Ale
2/3 c. chicken broth

Steps:

  • Using hands, combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, celery salt, pepper and egg in a mixing bowl. Shape into four ½ in. thick patties. Dip each into flour and sauté in a chicken fryer over medium heat in heated oil for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan and place on warm plate. Dissolve 1 tbsp cornstarch in cold water. Drain all but 1 tbsp drippings from pan and stir in cornstarch/water. Cook 1 minute over medium heat. Stir in ale and broth and cook for about 3 minutes until lightly thickened and bubbly. Spoon sauce over steaks and serve to friends or family.
