Yield 3 cups.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound ground beef
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth, divided
1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Hot mashed potatoes or cooked pasta

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add 1-1/2 cups beef broth, onion, parsley, basil, garlic powder, seasoned salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until onion is tender. , In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and remaining broth until smooth. Stir into beef mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with mashed potatoes or pasta.

This is a simple & fast way to make hamburger gravy. It taste similar to stroganoff without being too strong.

1 lb lean ground beef
salt & pepper
2 dashes garlic powder
1 cup 2% low-fat milk
1 beef bouillon cube
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
3 tablespoons light sour cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Steps:

  • Place the beef in a large skillet, sprinkle with salt, pepper, & garlic powder. Brown until no longer pink then drain any excess grease.
  • Add the milk & bouillon, stir until it has melted. Next add in the soup, sour cream, & spices stir until blended.
  • Heat over medium heat until hot. Serve over mashed potatoes.

This was a mistake made when trying to make chop steak in gravy. We liked it, so it stayed. The beef has to be very lean, but if you don't have lean beef on hand, just drain the fat before you add the water and gravy mix.

2 lbs lean ground beef
1 large onion
4 -5 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 -2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup brown gravy mix
3 cups water
1 -2 tablespoon cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • Chop onions and mince garlic and saute them in a large saucepan until they start to brown.
  • Add ground beef, salt, pepper, cajun seasoning and worcestershire sauce and cook on med-high to high until browned.
  • Add water and brown gravy mix and stir to combine.
  • Once it comes to a boil lower to a simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Serve over rice.
