CHEDDAR-BACON DIP

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
5 green onions, thinly sliced
4 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 jar (16 ounces) taco sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
Tortilla or nacho tortilla chips

Steps:

  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Spread in an ungreased 13x9-in. dish or on a 12-in. plate. Combine onions, tomatoes and green pepper; sprinkle over the cream cheese layer. , Pour taco sauce over the vegetables. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Refrigerate. Just before serving, sprinkle with bacon. Serve with chips.

1/4 cup mayonnaise (not miracle whip, I use Hellmans)
5 slices of cooked crisp bacon
1 tablespoon chives or 1 tablespoon green onion, chopped
1 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Place in covered container
  • chill for an hour at least.
  • Serve with chips or crackers. (I love this with Frito scoops).

  • Cut the tops off 2 heads garlic, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil and bake at 400 degrees until tender, 45 minutes. Make Onion Dip using the roasted garlic pulp in place of the sauteed onions. Add 6 slices chopped crisp bacon.

½ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 onion, minced

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels.
