GIANT EDIBLE COOKIE BOWL RECIPE BY TASTY

Giant Edible Cookie Bowl Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: store-bought cookie dough, all-purpose flour, nonstick cooking spray, semisweet chocolate chip, coconut oil, vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream, banana, strawberries, whipped cream

Provided by Claire Nolan

Categories     Bakery Goods

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb store-bought cookie dough
½ cup all-purpose flour
nonstick cooking spray
1 cup semisweet chocolate chip
1 tablespoon coconut oil
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
4 scoops chocolate ice cream
1 banana, quartered
6 strawberries, sliced vertically
½ cup whipped cream

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325˚F (160˚C).
  • Place cookie dough in a medium bowl and add the flour. Mix until the flour is incorporated. The extra flour will help keep the cookie from running off of the bowl.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and wrap an ovenproof bowl in foil. Spray with nonstick spray and press the cookie dough onto the bowl until it is completely covered.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool for 30 minutes with the bowl facing down. Once it has cooled, flip over, remove the ovenproof bowl, and allow the cookie to finish cooling.
  • Meanwhile, microwave the chocolate chips with the coconut oil for 1 minute, stirring every 20 seconds, until the chocolate has fully melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into the cookie bowl and spread it around until the inside of the bowl is fully covered, pouring the excess chocolate out. Freeze for 20 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully hardened.
  • Fill with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, banana, strawberries, and whipped cream.
  • Enjoy!

CHRISTMAS COOKIE BOWL

Christmas Cookie Bowl image

Here's a project that'll bowl folks over. It's a tasteful container you can create for your holiday home decor-from gingerbread. How did such an unusually sweet concept come about? It all started when Jennifer shared the spicy cookies she makes each Christmas, plus details on how she collects all sorts of boxes and bowls to hold them during parties and gatherings. Taken with both ideas, our home economists decided to combine them by making this cookie bowl. You'll find it's a treat in more ways than one. Use it as a gift container...a table topper...or, since it is edible, as part of a festive dessert.

WORLD'S EASIEST CHOCOLATE MOUSSE IN A COOKIE BOWL

World's Easiest Chocolate Mousse in a Cookie Bowl image

Provided by Brandi Milloy

Categories     dessert

Time 1h10m

Yield 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Berries, such as blueberries, raspberries and small strawberries, for garnish, optional
Shaved bittersweet chocolate, for garnish, optional
Nonstick cooking spray, for the muffin tin
One 16.5-ounce package refrigerated cookie dough, such as Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Steps:

  • For the mousse: Use the double boiler method to melt the chocolate. Fill a pot with approximately 2 inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat.
  • Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl on top of the pot, making sure the bowl does not touch the water in the pot. Heat, stirring with a spatula, until the chocolate is melted, smooth and shiny. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, pour the cream into a bowl and whip with a handheld mixer until soft peaks form. Carefully fold the chocolate into the cream until fully incorporated. Add the mousse to a pastry bag or resealable plastic bag. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
  • For the cookie bowls: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray nonstick cooking spray into the cups of a 12-cup standard muffin tin.
  • Press about 2 1/2 tablespoons of cookie dough into each cup of the muffin tin, pressing the dough in the bottom and up the sides. Bake until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft, 14 to 16 minutes. If the centers of the cookie cups don't fall a bit when you remove the tin from the oven, use the bottom of a measuring cup or a small bowl to press the centers down. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes.
  • When ready to enjoy, pipe the mousse into each cookie bowl and top with berries and shaved chocolate if desired.

NAME THIS DISH! COOKIE BOWL

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     dessert

Time 3h

Yield 4 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups mini chocolate chips
3 to 4 cups dried beans, for weights
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 pint chocolate ice cream
1 pint coffee ice cream
2 ounces coffee liqueur (or use milk)
2 ounces bourbon (or use milk)
Whipped cream, for topping

Steps:

  • Make the cookie bowl: Preheat the oven to 350˚. Line a 3-quart metal bowl (with an 8-inch diameter at the top) with foil, leaving a 1-inch overhang. Coat the foil with cooking spray; set aside.
  • Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Beat the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on high speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Reduce the mixer speed to low and beat in the flour mixture until just combined. Stir in 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips. Working with a small handful at a time, press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the foil-lined bowl to cover, stopping 1 inch from the rim of the bowl. Freeze until set, about 15 minutes.
  • Line the dough in the bowl with parchment paper and fill with enough dried beans to reach the top edge of the dough. Bake until the bottom and sides of the cookie bowl are set and the parchment can be removed without sticking, about 1 hour. Remove the parchment paper and beans. Reduce the oven temperature to 325˚ and continue baking until the bottom of the cookie is dry but still soft, 15 to 25 minutes. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely in the bowl, about 30 minutes. Lift the cookie out of the bowl using the foil overhang, then remove the foil.
  • Combine the remaining 1 cup mini chocolate chips and the coconut oil in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water; cook, stirring, until melted. Remove from the heat and whisk until smooth. Let cool 10 minutes. Brush the inside of the cookie bowl with some of the melted chocolate. Freeze until set, 10 to 20 minutes. Reserve the remaining melted chocolate for topping.
  • Make the milkshake: Blend the ice cream, liqueur and bourbon in a blender. Pour into the cookie bowl; top with whipped cream and the remaining melted chocolate.
