Best Apple Pie. image

It's perfect. :) ...and there is never enough. Enjoy!

1 box refrigerated pie crusts
FILLING:
6 c cortland apples, peeled and thinly sliced (6 med apples)
3/4 c sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp lemon juice
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 Tbsp butter, cubed

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 425*, place 1 pie crust in 9-in pie plate & press.
  • 2. Mix filling ingredients; pour into bottom pie crust.
  • 3. Top with lattice-style crust. Press top & bottom crusts together on sides of pie plate. Sprinkle crust with cinnamon & sugar, if desired. *Do NOT let the crust get warm before baking!*
  • 4. Drop butter chunks in open spots on the crust, wherever it looks good.
  • 5. Bake 40-45 minutes. Cover edges with foil after 15 minutes of baking.
  • 6. Cool on cooling rack at least 2 hours before serving.
