1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup crumbled cooked bacon (about 12 strips), divided
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted, divided
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos, drained
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Stir in shredded cheeses, 1/2 cup bacon, 1/4 cup pecans, onion, pimientos, pickle relish, salt and pepper. Refrigerate, covered, at least 1 hour., In a small bowl, mix parsley, poppy seeds and remaining bacon and pecans. Spread half the parsley mixture on a large plate. Shape half the cheese mixture into a ball; roll in parsley mixture to coat evenly. Cover. Repeat. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Serve with crackers.

  • 1. Mix Together the cream cheese and the chutney. Make a ball. Roll the ball in the diced walnuts. Serve with your favorite crackers.

1 jar (8 ounces) chutney or spiced peach jam
1/4 cup finely sliced green onions
Snack crackers of choice

Steps:

  • Press softened cream cheese into oiled mold of desired shape. (For easy removal, spray mold with cooking spray and line with plastic wrap if desired.) , Unmold on chilled plate. Pour chutney over mold; sprinkle with onions. Ring plate with crackers (buttery crackers are especially good with this appetizer). Serve immediately.

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, room temperature
2 packages cream cheese (8 ounces each), room temperature
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons mango chutney
1 cup toasted pecans
Crackers, for serving

Steps:

  • Place cheddar, cream cheese, butter, milk, and chutney in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment; mix until well combined. Transfer mixture to refrigerator; let chill overnight. Roll cheese mixture into a ball. Place pecans in a shallow dish. Roll cheese ball in pecans to fully coat. Serve with crackers.

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into chunks
1 green onion, including some of the tender green tops,coarsely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chutney (Major Grey's is recommended)
1/4 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
apple, slices
assorted cracker

Steps:

  • Add the first 5 ingredients to the container of a food processor.
  • Process until well blended.
  • Lay a sheet of plastic wrap on a plate or line a bowl with it.
  • Transfer dip mixture to plastic wrap line plate or bowl.
  • Refrigerate for several hours.
  • Shape cheese mixture into a ball.
  • Put the chopped nuts on a piece of waxed paper.
  • Roll the cheese ball in the nuts; cover well.

From my America's Best Recipes cookbook. Haven't tried this yet, but I love the combination of the raisins, peanuts and coconut with the curry powder and chutney. Makes 2 cheese balls. (Prep time does not include refrigeration time).

3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup raisins, chopped
1 cup salted peanuts, chopped
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup green onion, chopped
1 tablespoon curry powder (plus 1 tsp.)
1/3 cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
2 tablespoons chutney (or more to taste)

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese and sour cream in a large bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add raisins and next 4 ingredients, stirring well. Shape mixture into 2 balls. I went to a party where this was served and loved it. I couldn't get the recipe so I decided to experiment until I figured it out. This is the result. It's been very popular at parties I've taken it to. Prep time includes chilling time.

1 lb cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons dried currants
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 (10 ounce) jar chutnut chutney

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except chutney and mix thoroughly.
  • Form into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm.
  • Just before serving remove from refrigerator and place on a serving platter.
  • Pour chutney over ball and spread with a spatula to coat evenly.
  • Serve with crackers.
