AWESOME CHEESY HOT CRAB DIP

Awesome Cheesy Hot Crab Dip image

I got this recipe from a Southern Living Magazine a couple of years ago. It was an instant favorite, and I get so many requests for the recipe that I figured I would make it easy on myself and just post it. I usually use more Old Bay, Tabasco, and scallions than it says, cause I like a little extra kick. It really is AWESOME, especially with crusty french bread.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. In a mixer, add the sour cream, mayonniase and cream cheese and mix throughly. After that is done add the garlic salt so it will be mixed well into the recipe.
  • Fold in the green onions and half the bag of the cheddar cheese, the other half will be used on the top. Add the crab meat to the mixture and mix well.
  • Make sure that you spray the bowl that you are using to cook this in well and put the dip in and put in oven. Do not put the other half of the cheese on the mixture till the last 5 minutes of cooking. Cook for about 35 minutes till heated through and bubbly.
  • You could makes substitutions (lite sour cream, not fat free, tastes funny to me)one third less fat for the cream cheese, with this recipe and make a bread bowl to serve this out of.
