Apple bread is a scrumptious dish that requires a little bit of work. But witha a few ingredients and the help of a bread machine, you can easily bake apple bread for both small and large groups of people.

3 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1 1/2 cup apple (peeled and diced)

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients except the apples in a bowl. Add the mixture into the pan of the bread machine.
  • Select the required "dough cycle" and push start. Check the dough after 5 minutes.
  • Add the apple pieces 5 to 10 minutes before the ending of the last kneading cycle.

¾ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup applesauce
3 eggs
1 ¾ cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups peeled, cored and cubed apples
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
  • In a large bowl, stir together oil, applesauce, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, sift together flour cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Gradually stir flour mixture into wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in apples and walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 70 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean.

3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
3/8 cup apple juice
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • All ingredients should be at room temperature.
  • Place ingredients into your bread machine as the instructions that came with it direct. Mine are the following:.
  • Add liquid ingredients to the bread pan.
  • Add all dry ingredients, except yeast, to the pan.
  • Form a well in dry ingredients and carefully pour in the yeast.
  • Bake on "Sweet" Bread setting and choose your crust color, if applicable.
  • Press start!
  • (Note: The directions don't indicate to add the walnuts at the "beep", where you'd normally add fruit or nuts. Of course, you may hold them out and add them at the beep if you prefer.).

I like to prepare my bread batter ahead of time and thaw it out the night before I serve it. Just pop it in the oven in the morning and you have fresh breakfast bread. Enjoy!

¾ cup white sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons buttermilk
1 cup grated peeled apple
1 cup chopped nuts
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in apple and nuts. , Pour into a greased and floured 9x5-in. loaf pan. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
3 cups Gold Medal™ Better for Bread™ flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons bread machine or quick active dry yeast
1/2 cup chopped unpeeled apple
1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted

Steps:

  • Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except apple and pecans in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Add apple and pecans at the Raisin/Nut signal or 5 to 10 minutes before last kneading cycle ends.
  • Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Light crust color. Do not use delay cycle. Remove baked bread from pan, and cool on wire rack.
