Variations
This dish is easily adaptable to different tastes and dietary restrictions.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add more herbs or vegetables like cherry tomatoes, spinach, or roasted red peppers.
- Add some heat with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
- Swap out the angel hair pasta for a different pasta shape like spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine.
- Use other types of seafood like shrimp, scallops, or crab meat instead of oysters.
Tips
- Make sure to drain the oysters well before cooking them to prevent them from releasing too much water into the skillet.
- Cut the bacon into small pieces to ensure that they cook evenly and get crispy.
- Don't overcook the pasta or the oysters, as they can become tough and rubbery.
- Use high-quality Parmesan cheese for the best flavor.
