In this article, we’ll share some valuable tips to help you when making air fryer Scottish shortbread.

1. Use the right ingredients:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s essential to use the right ingredients. Use the best quality butter that you can afford, as it will give your shortbread a rich and buttery taste. Also, use high-quality all-purpose flour and caster sugar. Don’t skimp on these ingredients as they will make a huge difference in the taste and texture of your shortbread.

2. Use cold butter:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s important to use cold butter. Cold butter will help to create a flaky and crispy texture. If your butter is too soft, your shortbread will be dense and soft. Cold butter also helps to keep the shortbread cold, which is important when cooking it in the air fryer.

3. Don’t overwork the dough:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s important not to overwork the dough. Overworking the dough will result in a tough texture. Once you have combined the butter, flour, and sugar, mix it until it comes together. Don’t knead it or work it too much, or you will end up with tough shortbread.

4. Chill the dough:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s essential to chill the dough before cooking it. Chilling the dough will help to prevent it from spreading too much when it’s cooking in the air fryer. It will also help to keep the shortbread cold, which is important when cooking it in the air fryer.

5. Use parchment paper:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, use parchment paper to line the air fryer basket. It will help to prevent the shortbread from sticking to the basket. It will also make it easier to remove the shortbread from the basket when it’s done cooking.

6. Preheat the air fryer:

When making air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s important to preheat the air fryer. Preheating the air fryer will help to ensure that your shortbread cooks evenly. Preheat the air fryer at the temperature required by the recipe.

7. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer:

When cooking air fryer Scottish shortbread, it’s essential not to overcrowd the air fryer. Overcrowding the air fryer will result in uneven cooking. It’s best to cook the shortbread in batches if necessary.

8. Check the shortbread frequently:

When cooking air fryer Scottish shortbread, check it frequently. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the shortbread and the temperature of the air fryer. It’s important not to overcook the shortbread, as it will become too crispy.
