To add flavor, season your chicken beforehand with your preferred spices such as garlic, thyme, or paprika. 2. Peanut Butter Peanut butter serves as the base for this soup. It adds creaminess and nuttiness to the dish. Use a high-quality peanut butter that has no additives or sugar. 3. Broth Broth is the liquid component of the soup. You can use either chicken broth or vegetable broth. Use homemade broth for the best flavor. 4. Vegetables Vegetables add color, texture, and nutritional value to the African chicken peanut butter soup. You can use any vegetables of your choice, including onions, carrots, bell peppers, and celery. 5. Spices Spices are the secret ingredient that makes this soup tasty. You can use a blend of spices such as coriander, cumin, cinnamon, and chili powder. Tips 1. Use Homemade Broth Homemade broth has a richer flavor than store-bought broth. To make homemade broth, simmer chicken bones, carrots, onions, celery, garlic, and bay leaves for several hours. Strain the broth and use it for your soup. 2. Marinate Your Chicken Marinating chicken before cooking adds flavor to the meat. Mix your preferred spices with olive oil and coat your chicken in the mixture. Let the chicken marinate for at least an hour before cooking. 3. Brown Your Chicken Browning your chicken before adding it to the soup enhances the flavor of the meat. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and cook the chicken until it is browned on both sides. 4. Use Creamy Peanut Butter Creamy peanut butter adds a smooth and creamy texture to the soup. Avoid using chunky peanut butter as it may create a gritty texture in the soup. 5. Add Peanut Butter Gradually When adding peanut butter to the soup, add it gradually, and stir constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
