2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 3/4 lbs boneless chuck eye steak
1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
1 1/4 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper, divided
1/3 cup A.1. Original Sauce
1/4 cup seedless boysenberry jam
2 1/4 cups water, divided
2 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons potato starch
3 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/3 cups instant polenta
1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
1/4 cup butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  • In an oven-proof dutch oven, with a tight fitting lid, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Season steak with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Place in dutch oven and cook on all sides until browned, approximately 2 - 3 minutes per side.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the A.1., jam, 3/4 cup water, garlic, mustard, brown sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice. Pour over steak, cover, and place in preheated oven. Bake for 2 hours, until steak is fork tender. Remove steak to a large plate, cover with foil and let rest. Place the dutch oven with juices on stovetop over medium heat. Remove approximately 1/2 cup of juice to heat-proof bowl, whisk in the potato starch, pour back into dutch oven; stir to combine. Heat sauce until thickened, approximately 2 minutes; keep warm.
  • Using two forks, shred the steak into bite-sized pieces; keep warm.
  • Bring milk and remaining 1 1/2 cups water to boiling in a large saucepan over high heat. Add in the garlic powder, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and remaining 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Gradually stir in the polenta and cook, stirring constantly, for approximately 3 minutes until thickened. Stir in the parmesan cheese and butter.
  • To serve, spoon polenta into a serving bowl, top with shredded steak and gravy and enjoy!

1 (10 ounce) package frozen puff pastry shells
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, divided
1/4 cup A.1. Original Sauce
2 cups dark chocolate chips
2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 cup maraschino cherry, quartered
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Bake puff pastry shells at 425 degrees F. for 18 minutes according to package directions. Use a fork to remove the top halves and soft pastry underneath. Allow to cool.
  • Bring 1 cup heavy cream to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in A.1. Origianal Sauce and chocolate chips. Stir until well blended and smooth. Set aside.
  • To make the filling, place remaining 1/2 cup heavy cream in a medium bowl. Beat on high speed. Once cream begins to thicken, add cherry juice, vanilla and sugar. Continue to whip until cream is thick and stiff. Fold in Maraschino cherries.
  • To assemble, spoon cream mixture onto pastry shell bottoms. Place pastry tops over cream. Drizzle with the A.1. ganache. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Serve immediately and enjoy!

1 tablespoon olive oil
4 boneless skinless chicken thighs, trimmed of access fat
3 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder, blend
1 teaspoon brown sugar
3/4 cup sweet chili sauce
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons A.1. Original Sauce
1 small jalapeno, seeded and diced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, rough chopped, reserve 1 to 2 sprigs for garnish
2 tablespoons green onions, sliced
2 tablespoons walnuts, coarsely ground
1 (1 lb) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Add oil to a medium size non-stick skillet and heat over medium high until the oil starts to shimmer. While the oil heats, rub pepper, salt, 5 spice, and brown sugar on all sides of the chicken. Cook chicken on each side until brown, approximately 6 - 8 minutes. Lower the heat, cover and cook the an additional 5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Remove chicken from pan, let rest, rough chop and add to a food processor.
  • Blend the sweet chili sauce, hoisin sauce, A.1. Steak Sauce, jalapeno, cilantro, onions, and walnuts in a small bowl. Blend with a fork and remove 4 tablespoons to the food processor containing the chicken. Lightly pulsate mixture.
  • Unfold the pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each pastry sheet into four 5-inch squares. Spoon 1/4 cup chicken mixture on the lower third of each pastry square. Fold 2 sides over the filling and roll up like an egg roll. Place the egg rolls seam-side down onto an ungreased baking sheet. Brush the egg rolls with the egg and bake for 20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
  • Garnish with a few sprigs of cilantro and serve immediately with the sauce.
  • NOTES.
  • Time saver tip: buy a rotisserie chicken and use it to replace the skillet chicken.
  • If you like spicy flavors, add 1 minced chipotle pepper from a can of chipotle in adobo sauce to the sauce prior to serving.

16 corn tortillas
1 1/4 lbs ground turkey
1/2 cup A.1. Original Sauce
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
1 cup frozen corn, thawed
1 tablespoon Mexican oregano
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups mexican cheese, shredded
4 avocados, pitted and diced
1 cup tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, minced

Steps:

  • • Heat enough oil over medium high and fry tortillas in batches until golden crisp about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  • • In the meantime heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium and add turkey. Cook until browned about 8 to 10 minutes, drain and set aside. To same skillet add onion and cook until just tender about 5 minutes. Return turkey to skillet along with A1 Original Sauce and water and cook another 10 minutes until liquid is almost gone.
  • • In a medium bowl combine beans, corn, Mexican oregano, garlic powder and onion powder; mix well.
  • • Build tostadas by evenly smearing tortillas with beans and sour cream, then top with meat, cheese, avocado, tomato and cilantro.

2 large white onions

Steps:

  • Slice onions and sauté in olive oil over medium high heat until they start to become translucent. Add 2 T brown sugar, 2 T A1 and 2 T water. Cover and lower heat to just simmer.
  • Mix ground turkey with 2 T A1, 2 T mayo and salt and pepper and then form into 4 patties. This mixture will be very moist - don't worry.
  • Spray a medium size skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium high heat. Add turkey patties and cook for 5-7 minutes on the first side.
  • While the burgers are cooking mix together the basting sauce by mixing 2 T A1, 2 T brown sugar and 1 T water and microwave for 1 minute just to combine. Take the cover off of the onion mixture and turn to very low heat.
  • Flip the burgers and baste with the basting sauce. Cook for another 5-7 minutes and flip again, basting again.
  • Assemble burgers (on buns or no) by placing goat cheese on top of the burger and then the caramelized onions on top of the goat cheese.

1 medium yellow onion, sliced thin
1 cup red pepper jelly

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 cup rice flour
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon fine kosher salt
1 cup large spinach leaves
4 eggs
4 brioche rolls, split
1 roma tomato, diced

Steps:

  • Fry bacon until crisp in a medium size non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Remove the bacon to paper towels. Remove all but 1 tablespoon of bacon grease. Add the onions to the remaining bacon grease and cook until soft and brown, approximately 10 minutes. Add the jelly, A.1., and brown sugar and cook for 12 - 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce begins to thicken like jam. Stir in the walnuts and set aside.
  • Add the oil to a small saucepan and heat until shimmering over high heat. Place rice flour, pepper, salt, and spinach leaves in a zip lock bag to coat. Lower heat to medium-high and drop in the spinach. Fry until lightly crisp, approximately 2 minutes. Remove to paper towels.
  • To a small nonstick skillet, add one egg at a time and cook sunny side up.
  • While eggs cook, heat buns according to package directions. Remove from oven and keep warm.
  • To plate: Spread jam onto both cut sides of the roll, add 4 slices bacon to one side, then the spinach and tomatoes. Top with the egg and serve open faced. Enjoy!
  • Note: extra jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
