CROCK POT STEW (CHICKEN AND TURKEY SAUSAGE)
A very hearty, delicious stew. A meat lover's dream and a great combination of vegetables too. Originally posted as a variation for Recipe #118894, but I've separated them to make the recipe clearer.

Steps:
- In a skillet, warm oil over medium heat, and sauté meat until browned and thoroughly cooked.
- Drain off fat and set aside.
- In the crock pot, whisk together the broth and tomato paste.
- Add all remaining ingredients and meat to the crock pot and stir.
- Cover and cook until meat and veggies are tender (6-8 hours on LOW or 3-4 hours on HIGH).
- Stir well before serving.

TURKEY SAUSAGE AND SWEET POTATO STEW
My sister made this and I got to sample it. Adapted from BHG recipe. I love sweet potatoes and thought it was very good.

Steps:
- Cut sausage in half lenghthwise, then slice into 1-inch slices.
- Add sausage, sweet potato, bell pepper, celery, onion, and tapioca to a 4-quart slow-cooker; stir to combine.
- Add the chickpeas, undrained tomatoes, beef broth, and worcestershire sauce.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours.

TURKEY AND SAUSAGE STEW
Steps:
- Cook turkey and sausage 8 minutes. Drain and remove. Add onion, peppers, and bay leaves and cook 7 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Return meat to pot. Add tomatoes, beans, spinach, and chili powder, cumin, sugar, pepper, oregano, basil, and cayenne to taste. Bring to a boil and simmer 50 mins. Stir in juice and zest of lime and Tabasco to taste. Serve topped with grated cheese.

Steps:
- Heat oil in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add sausage, carrots, onions and celery; cook 4 to 5 min. or until sausage is browned and vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
- Add flour; cook and stir 1 min. Gradually stir in broth and milk. Add salad dressing mix and beans; mix well.
- Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 20 min. or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Serve topped with bacon bits.
