1 loaf round unsliced bread (not sweet)
8 ounces swiss cheese
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Using a serrated knife, cut bread diagonally into 1-inch thick slices to within 1 inch of the bottom of the loaf. Repeat in the opposite direction.
  • Cut the Swiss cheese into 1/2 inch cubes. Stuff cheese cubes and mushroom slices into the slits in the bread.
  • Combine the butter, poppy seeds, minced garlic, seasoned salt, ground mustard, and lemon juice in a microwavable dish. Cover and microwave on high for about 2 minutes, until butter is melted. Stir to combine well.
  • Spoon butter mixture over bread.
  • Wrap bread in foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

1 loaf (18-20 inches) French bread
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
3/4 teaspoon celery seed
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons dried parsley flakes

Steps:

  • Cut bread in half crosswise. Make diagonal cuts, 1 in. apart, through bread but not through bottom. Combine all remaining ingredients. Spread half the butter mixture between bread slices. Spread remaining mixture over top and sides of bread., Place bread on double thickness of foil; cover loosely with more foil. Bake at 425° for 20-30 minutes. For last 5 minutes, remove foil covering bread to allow it to brown.

1 loaf French bread
2 cups shredded swiss cheese
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped green onion
3/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Slice bread diagonally to within 1 inch of bottom, without cutting through completely.
  • Place bread on large piece of foil.
  • Combine cheese, mushrooms and green onions.
  • Stuff mushroom mixture into each cut of bread, being sure to fill each cut.
  • Melt butter; add lemon juice, poppy seeds and mustard.
  • Drizzle butter sauce over bread just before baking.
  • Wrap bread securely in foil.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Serve hot.

1 lb swiss cheese, grated
1 (8 ounce) can chopped mushrooms
3 green onions
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 teaspoon seasoning salt

1 tablespoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Stuff sections of bread with Swiss cheese and chopped mushrooms.
  • Place bread on heavy duty foil and put green onions, poppyseeds and seasoned salt on top.

2 cups thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. On an ungreased baking sheet, unroll crescent dough into one long rectangle; press perforations to seal. Prick dough several times with a fork. Bake 5 minutes., Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss mushrooms with melted butter; arrange on crust. Sprinkle with cheese and seasonings. Bake 12-14 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown.
