1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup parve non-dairy milk substitute or 1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple in juice
1/2 cup golden raisin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup corn flake crumbs
1/4 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Cook noodles and drain.
  • Mix together next nine ingredients.
  • Add cooked noodles.
  • Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Mix the topping ingredients together and sprinkle over kugel.
  • If desired, you may increase the amount of topping ingredients proportionately to make an even sweeter, crunchier top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.

1/4 cup butter
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 ounces ricotta cheese (if you can find it, pot cheese is more authentic) or 8 ounces pot cheese (if you can find it, pot cheese is more authentic)
1 cup sour cream or 4 ounces soft cream cheese
1/2 cup raisins
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Cook noodles until tender, drain.
  • Put noodles in a large bowl, add the butter, and stir until butter is melted.
  • Beat together eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Stir in the ricotta and sour cream or cream cheese. Stir into the noodles and add the raisins.

This is a very unique dish that can be found all over Jerusalem. It is a noodle casserole with carmelized sugar and lots of black pepper. Serve this warm as a different kind of side dish. I originally got this recipe from a community cookbook that was given to me along with all the other brides that got married that same year. Recipe is from Susie Gale with only a minor change.

3/4 cup oil
1 cup sugar

I love kugel, a Jewish noodle pudding. I used the ingredient list for RSC#18 to inspire this one. Instead of raisins, I used mango. The allspice & ginger add a nice little kick. This is very easy to assemble. My family really loved this & I hope you do, too!

1 cup 10% cream

4 tablespoons bourbon
one 1-lb package wide egg noodles
6 eggs
¼ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to salt water for noodles

2 cups corn flakes
1 cup whole shelled pecan halves, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Wrap sweet potatoes individually in foil and roast in the oven until soft and completely cooked through, about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Peel skin off sweet potatoes using your hands (and a table knife, if it helps), then puree with the bourbon in a blender or food processor until completely smooth. This should yield about 3 cups of puree. If you yield more than 3 cups, set the excess aside for another use or discard. (If you want, you can do this ahead and refrigerate the puree for up to 2 days.) Lower oven to 350°F. 1 (12 ounce) package wide egg noodles
1/4 cup melted pareve margarine
4 gala apples
3/4 cup golden raisin
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Steps:

  • Grease a 9"x13" glass baking dish and set aside.
  • Cook the noodles according to the directions on the box. Cook the noodles only to the al dente stage.
  • Drain them, return them to the cooking pot and add the melted margarine. Mix well and set aside to cool.
  • Peel the apples, cut them in quarters, remove the core and seeds and slice the apples into the noodles. Add the raisins, cinnamon, sugar, honey and salt. Mix well.
  • Gently beat the eggs together and mix into the noodle mixture.
  • Pour into the greased pan. Cut a piece of aluminum foil and spray one side with non-stick cooking spray. Cover the kugel tightly and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.

1 ⁄2 pound wide egg noodles, about 3/4 of 1 (8-ounce) package
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened, plus more for greasing
3 eggs, separated
1 ⁄2 cup sugar
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 1⁄2 cups cornflakes cereal, lightly crushed

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles; cook, stirring occasionally, until just tender, about 3 minutes. Drain noodles; set aside. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter; set aside. Using a hand mixer, beat egg whites in a bowl until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes. Set beaten egg whites aside. Using a hand mixer, beat 8 tablespoons butter, plus sugar in a bowl until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add yolks, one at a time, beating until smooth after each addition. Add cottage cheese and sour cream; mix until combined. Add noodles and toss to coat. Gently fold in egg whites. Transfer mixture to prepared dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with crushed cornflakes, and dot with remaining butter; bake until golden brown, 40 to 45 minutes.
