Number Of Ingredients 11

1 loaf crusty french bread
1 tablespoon(s) canola oil
1 pound(s) beef steak cut into small strips
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoon(s) soy sauce
2 teaspoon(s) sriracha hot chili sauce
3 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon(s) fresh ginger
1/3 cup(s) ketchup
1 cup(s) mozzarella shredded
1/2 cup(s) provolone shredded

Steps:

  • Remove top third of the loaf by cutting around the bread several times with a sharp knife. Keep the knife at an angle that goes slightly downward. Remove the insides creating a boat. Try to leave about a half inch of bread all the way around.
  • Add oil to skillet over medium high heat. Add steak and cook until browned and slightly crispy on the edges; approximately 5-7 minutes. If the steak produces any moisture while cooking drain right away. You don't want your steak boiling. You want to almost stir fry it.
  • Reduce heat to low and add garlic and continue cooking for 30 seconds. Stir in soy sauce, sriracha, Worcestershire sauce, ginger and ketchup. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spoon beef mixture into French bread boat. Top with cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Turn the broiler on the last minute of cooking just to brown the cheese a touch. Stay close by broilers as broilers are unpredictable

Here's what you need: canola oil, ribeye steak, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, unsalted butter, fresh rosemary, garlic, baguette, butter, garlic, grated parmesan cheese, fresh parsley

Categories     Appetizers

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

3 tablespoons canola oil
1 lb ribeye steak
¾ tablespoon kosher salt
½ tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 baguette
4 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Slice the steak in half lengthwise then season all of the sides with the salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a pan over extremely high heat until oil is slightly smoking.
  • Sear the steak for about one minute, then flip.
  • Add the butter, rosemary, and garlic, swirling the pan so that the butter melts. Tilt the pan towards you, and using a large spoon, constantly scoop the melted butter on top of the steak, basting it for about one minute.
  • NOTE: This helps cook the top of the steak faster and provide more flavor.
  • Sear the sides of the steak for about 30 seconds, then remove it from heat completely. Repeat with the other strip of steak.
  • Cut the ends off the baguette and remove the insides using a knife.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Once the steaks are completely cool, stuff the hollowed out baguettes with the steak. Place the baguettes on a baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic, Parmesan, and parsley, stirring until evenly combined. Spread the garlic butter evenly on top of the steak-stuffed baguettes.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on how you like your steak.
  • Slice into 1 in (3 cm) bites.
  • Enjoy!
