Provided by Martha Stewart

Categories     Food & Cooking     Ingredients     Meat & Poultry     Beef Recipes

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 9

All-purpose flour, for work surface
1 pound pizza dough, thawed if frozen, divided in half
5 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
10 ounces sirloin steak (1 inch thick)
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
2 bell peppers (not green), stemmed, seeded, and thinly sliced lengthwise
4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded (1 cup)
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley leaves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500 degrees, with racks in upper and lower thirds. On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1 dough half into a 14-inch oval. Transfer dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with 1 teaspoon oil. Repeat with remaining dough half. Bake until crusts are puffed and golden brown, about 14 minutes, piercing large air bubbles with a knife, if necessary, and rotating sheets halfway through.
  • Meanwhile, pat steak dry and season with salt and pepper. In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, heat 1 teaspoon oil over medium-high until almost smoking. Cook steak until medium-rare, 6 to 8 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to a cutting board, tent with foil, and let rest 10 minutes.
  • In skillet, heat 2 teaspoons oil over medium. Add onion and bell peppers and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until beginning to soften, about 5 minutes. Uncover and cook until vegetables are crisp-tender and dark brown in spots, 8 minutes.
  • Thinly slice steak against grain. Top crusts with steak, vegetables, and cheese. Bake pizzas just until cheese is melted, 3 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.

PHILLY CHEESE STEAK PIZZA

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza image

My family has always liked the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza from Domino's. I decided that it has a really simple concept, so I got to work one evening and decided to give it a try. Although I cut corners on the pizza dough, my family said that is was by far the best Pizza that they had ever had, hands down. Don't be afraid to try this recipe, you will love it. I had a pretty good idea of what was on the pizza to begin with, so the rest was easy. I chose deli roast beef becase it is a better quality than frozen and formed steak patties. Good Luck!

PHILLY CHEESE STEAK PIZZA RECIPE - (5/5)

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza Recipe - (5/5) image

Provided by MJH

Number Of Ingredients 16

SAUCE:
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
½ cup cold milk
1-3 cloves garlic, pressed
1/8 teaspoon salt
a pinch of black pepper AND nutmeg
¼ cup parmesan cheese
PIZZA:
½ recipe homemade pizza dough (store bought works too)
6 ounces of cooked ribeye, skirt,or flank steak, or roast beef (see notes for cooking instructions)
½ green bell pepper, sliced
3-5 mushrooms sliced
½ sweet onion, thinly sliced
3 teaspoons oil (optional)
1 ¼ cup shredded cheese (such as mozzarella or provolone)

Steps:

  • Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 475ºF. Roll the dough out into a 12 inch circle. Create a lip or rim by thickening the dough around the crust portion. This keeps the sauce in instead of running over the sides. Let dough rest for 15-20 minutes while you prepare the sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and let cook for 1 minute or until it smells like baked pie dough. Slowly stream in the cold milk while you whisk. Add the pressed garlic and allow the sauce to come to a gentle simmer. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Remove the sauce from the stove; whisk in the parmesan cheese. Allow the sauce to cool for 5-10 minutes, you can prep your veggies in that time. The veggies can be used raw on the pizza if you prefer. I like to heat a skillet with a teaspoon of oil and cook each onions, peppers, and mushrooms for just a couple minutes separately. You'll use a total of 3 teaspoons of oil to do this. I sometimes let the onions go low and slow for a little longer to get them to sweeten up a bit more, however this is totally optional. Top the dough with sauce, cooked steak, veggies, and shredded cheese. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned and the cheese is bubbling and golden. For the last minute of baking, you can turn it to the broiler setting just to get everything extra bubbly if you'd like. Slice pizza and serve! NOTES: If you don't have leftover cooked steak, here's how to make it: Freeze the steak for 20-30 minutes so it's easier to slice. Slice into very thin slices. Heat a skillet with 2 teaspoons of oil and season the steak with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook the meat for a total of 1-2 minutes flipping it halfway in between so that it cooks evenly. Remove to a plate and let cool.

Steak, Mushroom, and Onion Pizza image

My husband wanted something a little different for pizza night tonight. He wanted a pizza with beef and onions, and maybe a few mushrooms. It sounded to me like he might have been inspired by steak & mushroom pie (especially considering he'd just been to the British import shop & bakery!). So here is my interpretation!

VERY SIMPLE PESTO STEAK AND GOAT CHEESE PITA PIZZA WITH ASPARAGU

Very Simple Pesto Steak and Goat Cheese Pita Pizza With Asparagu image

This is delicious, simple and impressive. I used an inexpensive steak and it still tasted great. Wonderful with a tossed salad or fruit. Feel free to skip the cream cheese and use just goat cheese for a bolder flavour.

Provided by Chez Desireacutee

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 35m

Yield 4 pita pizzas

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 steak
4 small pita bread
4 tablespoons prepared pesto sauce (I used Classico Basil Pesto)
4 tablespoons light cream cheese
4 tablespoons goat cheese
10 -12 stalks asparagus
3 -4 mushrooms (I used Cafe)
2 plum tomatoes
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 garlic clove

Steps:

  • To prepare steak-.
  • Slice small "pockets" in steak against grain and stuff with thin pieces of garlic. Liberally sprinkle salt on top.
  • Put on foil covered broiler pan and broil for 3-4 minutes on each side depending on how well you like your steak. Remember that the steak will cook further in the oven as the pizza, so take this additional cooking time into account when you check for doneness.
  • For pizzas-.
  • Put all 4 pitas on a baking tray. I usually put a little cornmeal on the tray to ensure that they do not stick.
  • Spread each pita with a tablespoon of pesto. If you like more feel free to add some.
  • Prepare asparagus by snapping off tough ends and washing. Lay in single layer on microwaveable plate. Add a little salt if you wish and cover with plastic wrap. The asparagus should be wet so that it will steam itself in the microwave. Microwave on high for 1 minute and let set with plastic still in tact to continue cooking.
  • Next arrange small amounts of cream cheese (or goat cheese if that's all you're using) around the pizza.
  • Slice the slightly cooled steak very thinly against the grain, keeping the garlic if it falls out to top on the pizza.
  • Arrange the thin pieces of steak on each pizza.
  • Top with sliced mushrooms, 1 inch long pieces of cut asparagus, sliced mushrooms and the goat cheese. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle some garlic salt on top.
  • Bake in 375°F oven for 8-12 minutes, until pita is slightly crispy. Broil for another minute or so to crisp up top.
  • Serve with some balsamic vinegar drizzled on top if you like.

Cooking spray
2 cups vertically sliced onion
1 (8-ounce) package presliced mushrooms
3/4 teaspoon salt, divided
1 (8-ounce) boneless sirloin steak, trimmed
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
3 (7-inch) refrigerated individual pizza crusts (such as Mama
Mary's)
2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1/3 cup (about 1 1/2 ounces) crumbled blue cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°. Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cover and cook 3 minutes. Uncover and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon salt; remove onion mixture from pan. Sprinkle steak with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Add steak to pan; cook over medium-high heat 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Let stand 5 minutes; cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices. Place crusts on a baking sheet. Bake at 450° for 3 minutes. Remove crusts from oven. Combine mayonnaise and horseradish; spread each crust with about 2 teaspoons mayonnaise mixture. Arrange onion mixture evenly over crusts; bake at 450° for 2 minutes. Divide steak and cheese evenly among pizzas; bake an additional 2 minutes or until cheese melts. Cut each pizza in half.

Philly Pizza Steak Pasta image

All the good stuff from a Philly Pizza Cheesesteak w/ everything. If you don't like it "with everything", leave the peppers and mushrooms out. Sometimes I make half w/ them and half without.
