Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
6 cups Corn or Rice Chex
1 cup confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips on high for 30 seconds. Stir; microwave 30 seconds longer or until the chips are melted. Stir in peanut butter. Gently stir in cereal until well coated; set aside. , Place confectioners' sugar in a large airtight container. Add cereal mixture and shake until well coated. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

You need only pantry basics to make a big batch of this puppy chow snack, so you might have already have everything on hand. It's great low-key party fare.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter (not all-natural)
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 cups Chex cereal
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Pour the cereal in a large bowl.
  • Place the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a medium-size glass bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until the chips begin to lose their shape. Stir until melted and smooth. (You can also do this in a small saucepan over low heat.) Stir in the vanilla. Pour over the cereal and stir gently until it's coated. Transfer to a large zip-top bag or airtight container.
  • Sift half of the powdered sugar over the cereal, close securely, and shake well. Repeat with the remaining powdered sugar.
  • Spread onto a baking sheet and let stand until cool, separating any large clumps.
  • Store in an airtight container.

1/3 cup butter, cubed
3 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Pour cereal into a very large bowl. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave on high 30 seconds. Stir gently. Continue microwaving on high, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and blended. Pour over cereal; gently stir to coat, In batches, place confectioners' sugar in a gallon-sized bag, add cereal mixture and shake until well coated. Spread cereal out on a baking sheet. Let stand until set. Store in airtight containers.
