Number Of Ingredients 11

½ (14.1-oz.) package refrigerated piecrusts
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
4 large eggs
1 ½ cups firmly packed light brown sugar
½ cup butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons milk
1 ½ teaspoons bourbon (vanilla extract may be substituted)
1 ½ cups pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Fit piecrust into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet; sprinkle piecrust with powdered sugar.
  • Whisk eggs in a large bowl until foamy; whisk in brown sugar and next 6 ingredients. Pour mixture into piecrust, and top with pecan halves.
  • Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 300°F, and bake 30 more minutes. Turn oven off, and let pie stand in oven, with door closed, 3 hours.

3 eggs
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups pecans ((I used small halves, but chopped pecans work just as well.))
1 (9-inch) unbaked deep dish frozen pie shell (thawed)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • In a medium bowl, gently beat eggs. Stir in sugar and flour, then the syrup, butter and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the pecans. Pour the mixture into pie shell being cautious not to over fill it.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set. Allow to cool completely.

¾ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
⅔ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup salted butter, melted
¼ cup all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon salt
½ cup Golden Eagle syrup
3 cups pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on at least 2 sides. Spray the parchment paper with baking spray.
  • Combine flour, butter, powdered sugar, and salt in a food processor and pulse 6 or 7 times to combine. Transfer mixture to the lined pan and press into an even layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown, about 20 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack.
  • Combine eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, flour, and salt together in a large bowl. Mix in syrup until well combined. Stir in pecans. Pour over the still-warm shortbread crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until filling is set, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely in the pan for at least 1 hour. Run a knife around the edge of the pan and pull out using the parchment overhang. Slice into bars.

The recipe for this Southern specially originated in Alabama. Its amber filling is stubbed with pecan pieces to add an interesting texture to this rich dessert. Serve it in small wedges with coffee. I found this recipe in My Great Recipes. I have not tried this I'm posting it for a request.

3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup broken pecans
9 inches pie shells (recipe follows)
10 -12 pecan halves
1 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
3 tablespoons cold water

Steps:

  • Filling:
  • Mix together eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter, vanilla, and pecan pieces.
  • Pour filling into prepared pie shell.
  • Arrange the pecan halves around the inside edge.
  • Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350. Bake 40 minutes longer or until the center is firm.
  • Cool to room temperature before cutting.
  • Pie Shell: Combine 1 1/3 c sifted all purpose flour and 1/2 tsp salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in 1/2 c shortening until uniform but coarse. Sprinkle on 3 tbl cold water. Mix with a fork until you can shape mixture into a ball. Roll out to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Place in pan, trim and flute edge.

1 cup corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups pecan halves
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • Beat eggs slightly in medium bowl. Beat in sugar, and then blend in syrup, butter or margarine, vanilla, salt, and pecans. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes; the pie will be brown and slightly puffed.

1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c granulated sugar
3 eggs- lightly beaten
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c regular syrup-any kind
3 Tbsp butter-- melted
1 c broken pecans
2 unbaked 9" pie shells

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together eggs,sugars,syrups,butter, vanilla, and pecan pieces. Pour filling into pie shells. Arrange whole pecan halves around the inside edge of the pies. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees then bake at 40 minutes or until center is firm. Cool to room temperature before cutting.
