This slow cooker chai tea latte is a cozy after dinner drink for the holidays that is caffeine-free, vegan, keto-friendly, and alcohol-free. Full of warming spices, it is so easy to make!

2 cinnamon sticks
10 green cardamom pods (broken open with the side of a knife)
40 peppercorns (roughly 1 teaspoon)
20 whole cloves
4 inches fresh ginger (sliced into rounds)
64 oz unsweetened almond milk (2 quarts, 2 946 mL cartons; see note 1)
2-4 tablespoons maple syrup (optional; note 2)

Steps:

  • Spice Sachet - Place the cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, peppercorns, cloves and ginger slices on a square of cheesecloth. Use kitchen twine to tie it shut.
  • Add liquid - Place in a large slow cooker and add 2 cartons of unsweetened almond milk. Add in maple syrup if desired and stir.
  • Slow cook - Cook on low for 4 hours.
  • Serve - Remove the bag of spices and serve with coconut whipped cream and cinnamon

7 chai tea bags
6 black peppercorns
2 cinnamon sticks
1 (2-inch) piece ginger, peeled and sliced into 8 pieces
6 cups plain unsweetened almond milk
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup rye whiskey, such as High West
8 orange twists, optional

Steps:

  • Combine the tea bags, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, ginger and 4 cups water in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add the almond milk and sugar. Reduce the heat to low and allow to simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain the mixture into a small slow cooker to keep warm during a party or ladle directly into 8 mugs, taking care to leave the spices in the saucepan. Serve with rye on the side for guests to add 1 ounce themselves, and garnish with orange twists, if desired.

3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
25 whole cloves
15 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
3 whole peppercorns
3-1/2 quarts water
8 black tea bags
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Place first 5 ingredients on a double thickness of cheesecloth. Gather corners of cloth to enclose seasonings; tie securely with string. Place spice bag and water in a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low 8 hours. Discard spice bag., Add tea bags; steep, covered, 3-5 minutes according to taste. Discard tea bags. Stir in milk; heat through. Serve warm.
