This mouthwatering crowd-pleaser is cut out for weekends and game days but also works as a comforting mid-week main. Simply do the prep ahead, add it in the cooker, and step back while deliciousness happens.

Steps:
- Spray inside of 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Remove inner skin from ribs; cut into 4-inch pieces. Mix brown sugar, salt, pepper, liquid smoke and garlic; rub mixture into ribs. Layers ribs and onion in slow cooker. Pour cola over ribs.
- Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Drain and discard liquid.
- Pour barbecue sauce into shallow bowl. Dip ribs into sauce. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs. Cover and cook on low heat setting 1 hour. Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer's directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

- In medium bowl, mix all sauce ingredients; set aside.
- Spray 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper. Place pork in slow cooker. Spoon about 1 1/2 cups sauce evenly over sections. Reserve remaining sauce; refrigerate.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours (or on High heat setting 3 hours to 3 hours 30 minutes) or until almost tender.
- Remove pork from slow cooker; drain and discard cooking liquid. Return pork to slow cooker; spoon reserved sauce evenly over each section. If cooking on High heat setting, reduce to Low. Cover; cook 1 hour longer.

- Cover and cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours. Remove ribs from cooker; place in shallow baking pan. Drain and discard liquid from cooker.
- Brush both sides of ribs with barbecue sauce. Return ribs to cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs. Cover and cook on Low heat setting about 1 hour or until ribs are glazed and sauce is desired consistency.

- Season ribs with salt and pepper. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Brown ribs on all sides, working in batches. Do not overcrowd the pan. Transfer ribs to slow cooker as they are browned. Discard any fat that renders from the meat.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, thyme, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, hot sauce, and salt and pepper.
- Pour sauce over ribs in slow cooker, and turn to coat. Cover, and cook on Low 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender. Remove bay leaf and discard before serving.
