This crab/shrimp/pasta entree is great served with a Caesar salad, hard rolls, asparagus and a nice white wine. It's quite rich, so it goes a long way!

½ pound fresh crab meat
½ pound cooked salad shrimp
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of shrimp soup
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup milk
1 (8 ounce) package angel hair pasta
8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (6 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the soup, milk, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth. Stir in the crabmeat, shrimp and uncooked noodles.
  • Spoon into an ungreased 9x12 inch baking dish. Sprinkle top with cheese. Bake, covered, in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle onion rings over the top. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ (12 ounce) jar cocktail sauce
2 (4 ounce) cans small shrimp, drained
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a 9 inch round serving dish, spread the cream cheese. Top with a layer of cocktail sauce. Arrange shrimp evenly over cocktail sauce. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over all. Chill in the refrigerator approximately 1 hour before serving.

This recipe comes from the New Orleans cookbook entitled "Jambalaya" which was the official cookbook of the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. It is a very easy and flavorful dip. You must refrigerate it for the best flavor. Preparation and cook time does not include refrigeration time.

1 lb raw shrimp, peeled
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup finely chopped green onion
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons finely chopped Italian parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Bring large pot of salted water to boil and add shrimp.
  • Boil shrimp for approximately 5 minutes or until done (do not overcook).
  • In large bowl blend cream cheese with onions, celery, lemon juice, parsley, salt, cayenne pepper and mayonnaise.
  • Gently fold in shrimp.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.

I got this recipe from a co-worker. The first time I made it, my boys ate all of it. The next time I added a second pound of shrimp with the same amount of marinade. My boys ate all of that as well. I always serve over rice.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chef prudhommes seafood magic seasoning
2 tablespoons lemons or 2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Thaw shrimp according to directions.
  • Remove shells.
  • Cut Yellow Pepper into 1/2 inch chunks.

1 cup chopped fresh basil
1 cup chopped fresh oregano
1 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 cup chopped fresh spinach
1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
5 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon white wine
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ cup cold water
1 small onion, chopped
1 green onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 tomato, diced
1 cup Mexican beer
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, toss together basil, oregano, parsley, spinach, romaine lettuce, 3 tablespoons olive oil, and white wine.
  • In a small bowl, blend the flour and water to a paste.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium high heat, and saute the onion, green onion, and garlic 5 minutes, until tender. Mix in the tomato. Reduce heat to low, and blend in the flour and water. Cook and stir until thickened. Mix in the beer and lime juice, season with salt and pepper, and simmer while cooking the shrimp.
  • Heat remaining olive oil in a separate medium saucepan. Saute the shrimp about 3 minutes on each side, until opaque.
  • Remove shrimp from heat, and finely chop while warm. Serve over the herb and greens mixture, and drizzle with beer sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan and freshly ground black pepper.

32 pieces of shrimps
4 whole cloves of garlic
2 medium-sized limes, each cut into four wedges
8 bamboo skewers
INGREDIENTS B:
For The Sauce Mixture
4 tablespoons peanut oil
1 tablespoon finely minced ginger
1 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
1 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 cup Louisiana seafood cocktail sauce
1/2 cup tomato sauce
4 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped
2 tablespoons white sesame seeds, lightly dry toasted until golden brown

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat broiler on low. 2. To make the sauce mixture, put all the eight ingredients in a bowl and mix them together until they are well combined. 3. Add the shrimps to the sauce and mix well. 4. To thread shrimps, start with a wedge of lime, follow with four shrimps well coated in sauce mixture. Lastly, attach a clove of garlic. 5. Broil shrimps until light chars appear on them. Baste them once with remaining sauce mixture. When the shrimps start to sizzle, remove them from the broiler. 6. Squeeze the juice from the broiled limes over the shrimps. Enjoy and bon appetit!

1 medium bell pepper diced
1 medium onion diced
1 stick oleo
2 cups raw rice
2 cans creamy chicken mushroom soup
1 can Rotel tomatoes
2 pounds shrimp peeled
1/2 can water
Salt to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
Parsley to taste

Steps:

  • Saute onion, bell pepper, and shrimp in oleo. Season with salt and pepper (or for more New Orleans taste, season instead with Toni Cacharies seasoning, Zatarains creole seasoning, or McCormick's creole seasoning). Put in 9- by 13-inch pan, cover with foil, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Then stir and cook for another 30 minutes or until rice is cooked. This recipe yields ?? servings.

This is one of the first dishes I learned to cook and it is easy and delicious.

3/4 c butter
1 can(s) rotel tomatoes
1 can(s) campbells' frend onion soup
1 can(s) cream of chicken soup
1 medium bell pepper
1 medium chopped onion
2 lb raw shrimp, peeled
2 c raw rice
2 Tbsp salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter and place in a baking dish. Add your ingredients and mix well. Make sure your mixture is soupy.
  • 2. Bake 1 hour covered. After 30 minutes, stir and return to oven.
  • 3. After one hour check to make sure your rice is done. If it is, remove the pan. If it it isn't quite soft enough and you don't have any more moisture in the pan simply add a half cup of broth or water and return to the over for another 20 minutes.
