6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3 cups Corn Chex
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Wheat Chex
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup pretzel
1 cup bite-size garlic bagel chips or 1 cup regular-size bagel chips, broken into 1-inch pieces

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 250 degrees.
  • Melt butter in large roasting pan in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
  • Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

A microwavable version of the ever-popular Chex cereal snack mix uses seafood seasoning for a new twist to give it a taste of Maryland.

3 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
3 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
2 cups sea salt and pepper pretzel pieces
2 cups salted mixed nuts
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 teaspoons seafood seasoning

Steps:

  • In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, pretzel pieces and nuts.
  • In 1-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and seafood seasoning. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
  • Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 4 minutes, thoroughly stirring after every minute. Spread on two 15x10x1-inch pans or paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
