1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla or white chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
3 large eggs
2/3 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine flour and salt. In a 1-qt. glass container, layer flour mixture, brown sugar, sugar, cocoa, chips and pecans. Cover and store in a cool, dry place up to 6 months. Yield: 1 batch (about 4 cups total)., To prepare brownies: Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, oil and vanilla. Add brownie mix; stir until blended., Spread into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack.

⅓ cup chopped walnuts
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
⅓ cup flaked coconut
⅔ cup brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • In a 1 quart jar, layer the ingredients in the order which they are listed. Be sure to pack down each layer firmly as you go. Decorate the jar and attach a tag with the following instructions:
  • To prepare Brownies, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine 2 eggs, 2/3 cup of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; mix well. Gradually stir in the contents of the jar until everything is well blended. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.

1/8 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla chip
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Layer in each Layered ingreidnet in each of 12 quart jars in the order given, leveling the ingredients as you layer: Make sure the jar is full to the top.
  • Cover the lid with a 7 1/2-inch circle of fabric tied with ribbon or raffia.
