2 lb hamburger
2 finely chopped onions
4 c fresh chopped cabbage
salt and pepper, to taste
2 pkg refrigerated crescent rolls
1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Spread one tube of crescent rolls into the bottom of a 9x13x2 pan and bake 7 minutes or until brown.
  • 3. While that is in the oven, brown the hamburger and onion in a skillet. ***Now is the time to add your choice of a thickener if you would prefer more of a gravy texture***
  • 4. Drain the grease from the hamburger and add the cabbage. Let it steam for a few minutes.
  • 5. Add the salt and pepper.
  • 6. Spread the hamburger/cabbage mix into the pan on top of the baked crescent dough.
  • 7. Sprinkle the cheese on top of the meat mixture.
  • 8. Spread the 2nd tube of crescent rolls over the top of the cheese.
  • 9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, covering with foil the last 10 minutes to soften the crust.

2 tablespoons butter
1 pound lean ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups chopped cabbage
1 (10 ounce) can low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a deep skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes. Add onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until onion softens, 3 to 5 minutes. Add cabbage and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir mushroom soup into the skillet.
  • Open crescent roll packages and unroll dough. Press 8 pieces into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour beef mixture on top. Cover with mozzarella and Cheddar cheeses. Place remaining 8 pieces of dough on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden brown and filling is bubbling, 20 to 30 minutes.

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
2 (8 ounce) cans crescent rolls
1 (8 slice) package swiss cheese
1 head cabbage
1 medium onion, diced

Steps:

  • Grease 9x13 pan.
  • Cover bottom with 1 package of crescent rolls.
  • Brown ground beef with cabbage and onions.
  • Drain grease from ground beef.
  • Combine ground beef, cabbage, and onion with cream of mushroom soup.
  • Pour over rolls.
  • Layer with swiss cheese.
  • Open second can of crescent rolls layer over cheese, try to cover all cheese.
  • Bake 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

1 pound ground pork
2 onions, finely chopped
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 clove garlic, minced, or to taste
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef, pork, and onions in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Add cabbage to the skillet on top of the meat mixture. Cover skillet and let cabbage steam, 1 to 2 minutes. Add garlic, salt, and pepper and mix well. Remove from heat.

¼ cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup warm water
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 small head cabbage, cored and shredded
1 tablespoon garlic powder, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste
4 slices process cheese food (such as Velveeta®), or to taste

Steps:

  • Mix flour, butter, sugar, yeast, and salt together in a large bowl; pour in warm water. Stir mixture into a soft ball. Roll dough out on a floured surface; knead until dough is elastic, 3 to 4 minutes. Place dough in a bowl and cover with a towel; allow to rise in a warm and dry area, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and onion in the hot skillet until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 10 minutes; drain and discard grease. Add cabbage; cook until cabbage is steamed and wilted, about 10 minutes. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Yesterday you posted a runza recipe and I said that I make a runza casserole which is a lot less work, somebody ask me to post it I do not have a picture of it I just went to my recipes and type it in. Hope you all like it.

2 lb hamburter
2 tube(s) crescent rolls
6 c cabbage, shredded
1 small onion
1 can(s) cream of chicken or mushroom soup
16 slice velveeta cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Brown Hamberger, onion and cabbage: drain
  • 2. Season with salt and pepper. Add soup and heat.
  • 3. Take 1 tube of crescent roll and spread out in bottom of 9x 13 inc pan; layer 1/2 of hamburger mixture, top with 8 cheese slices; add remaining hamburger mixture and 8 slices of cheese.
  • 4. spread second tube of crescent rolls over top. Bake 350 degrees oven for 25 minutes. Cut into squares to serve.

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

5 ounces milk
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (8 ounce) package crescent rolls

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Simmer cabbage and onion until partially cooked in the 2 Tablespoons of water.
  • In small frying pan brown the Ground Beef.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add the salt and pepper to your taste likeing.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, Cream of mushroom soup, half of the soup can of milk and the cheese.
  • When the mixture is bubbly, stir in the cabbage and onion.
  • Place in a 9 X 13 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray or lightly greased.
  • Open the crescents rolls and lay flat over the meat mixture.

You have got to try this! I made it for our Easter Potluck and there were NO leftovers!! It is very delicious and easy to make!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 can(s) refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 lb very lean hamburger (i used 93% lean)
1 medium onion - chopped
2 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg 16oz. shredded cabbage (i used packaged coleslaw mix)
1 pkg 16oz. shredded mozzerella cheese
dash(es) salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce and garlic powder to taste.

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meat. Halfway through add onions and cabbage, salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Cook on medium heat until onions and cabbage are translucent. Add cream of mushroom soup and mix throughly.
  • 2. Put one roll of crescent roll dough in bottom of greased 9X13 pan. If using the dough with the seams, simply pinch the seams together. You may need to gently spread the dough so that it completely covers the bottom of the pan.
  • 3. Evenly spread meat mixture on top of crescent roll dough. Sprinkle cheese on top of meat mixture. (*Note - I used 16oz of cheese because we like cheese. You may only use 8oz if you wish. I also made half the casserole with american cheese slices and the other half with mozzerella. They were both good so you can choose your cheese!)
  • 4. Gently lay second can of crescent roll dough on top. Be sure to pinch the seams together! Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes.

  • 1. Brown ground beef. About 1/2 way through browning, add onion and cabbage.
  • 2. Add soup and mix well.
  • 3. Unroll one package of crescent rolls and lay in bottom of greased 9 x 13 pan. Spoon mixture on top. Sprinkle with cheese.

1 small head of cabbage
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
3 tub es of crescent rolls
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Spray type vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Brown and drain ground beef. Chop cabbage and place in large Pyrex mixing bowl. Microwave on high for 15 - 20 min, stirring every 5 min. Mix in large bowl the ground beef, onion soup mix, undiluted mushroom soup and cabbage.
  • Spray vegetable oil lightly in glass 9 x 13 casserole dish. Spread bottom with 1 tube of crescent rolls. Pour and spread mixture on top. Sprinkle cheddar cheese. Top with remaining crescent rolls.
  • Bake as directed for crescent rolls.

How to make Runza Casserole with Bisquick

1 diced onion
1lb hamburger
3/4 bag shredded cabbage
salt & pepper
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Bisquick
2 eggs
shredded cheese

Steps:

  • In a skillet - saute one diced onion. Add in one package (1lb) hamburger. Once browned, season with salt, pepper (that's the runza flavor), and some cumin. Add in 3/4 a package of shredded cabbage. Cook it down just a bit until it's all nice and happy. *I like to dice a little jalapeno into mine.
  • For the "pie" part: In a large glass measuring cup (this is just easier that getting a bunch of stuff dirty): 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup gluten free bisquick, and 2 eggs. Whisk together with a fork.
  • In a casserole dish. Combine the hamburger cabbage mixture with the bisquick milk mixture. Top with shredded cheese and bake in the oven at 425 for 25 minutes or until it looks fantastic!
