Wanda's Cake image

This was my mother Wanda's Cake It came from a old cookbook my mother had and mom would alway's make this for Homecoming. Everyone has their own copy of the recipe now and mom has since passed away and when making our church cookbook we added this recipe to the cookbook and called it Wanda's cake.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cup(s) self-rising flour
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 cup(s) milk
1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil
2 - eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 stick(s) unsalted butter
2 cup(s) sugar
1 small can(s) evaporated milk (pet milk)
1 cup(s) miniture marshmallows
CAKE/ FROSTING

Steps:

  • Pre-Heat oven 350* Cake; Mix together flour,sugar,milk,oil,eggs.and vanilla and bake in two greased round layer pans at 350*. Until done- about 25-30 minutes. Cool cakes.
  • Frosting; Mix together sugar, evaporated milk,butter and bring to a boil and boil slowly for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 cup miniture marshmallows and whip with spoon until cool.
  • Remove cakes from pans, place one layer on cake plate. Frost top of first layer of cake then place second layer on top and continue to frost top and sides of cake. Frost cake when icing is thick enough to spread on cake layers.
