Turkish chicken and cardamom rice pilaf with caramelized onions image

8 Chicken thighs
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1 Lemon zest/juice
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon ZA'TAR
1 tablespoon Sumac
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon Turkish Red Pepper (similar to Aleppo?)
1 tablespoon corriander
1 tablespoon CUMIN
2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon black pepper
4 tablespoon cilantro

Steps:

  • Combine yogurt, lemon and spices in a bowl, add chicken, thoroughly coat all the pieces in the marinade and let sit up to 24 hours covered in the fridge. You need at least 2 hours of marinating before cooking. Broil or grill on both sides until done. Serve with chopped cilantro and more lemon.
