Teacakes Grandma-Style image

Perfectly light, soft and not overwhelmingly sweet... just how a teacake ought to be! This is a great recipe and my grandson, in particular, became an instant fan. (He suggested adding icing, but I like them as is.)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 c sugar
1 c shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 c flour

Steps:

  • 1. Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs.
  • 2. Combine with rest of ingredients.
  • 3. Roll out, cut and bake 8 - 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
