Taco Twist image

This is one casserole my family really enjoys, plus it's so easy to prepare.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb. ground beef
1. 25 oz. packet taco seasoning
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1-1/2 cups macaroni, cooked and drained
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
3/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • 1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef, and then drain off any excess grease.
  • 2. Return cooked beef to the skillet.
  • 3. Stir in the taco seasoning mix, the tomato sauce, and the green peppers.
  • 4. Keep stirring the meat mixture while bringing this to a boil.
  • 5. Once the taco meat mixture comes to a boil, then remove skillet from the heat.
  • 6. Combine together, the macaroni, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, the and sour cream.
  • 7. Place macaroni mixture on bottom of one 2-1/2 to 3 quart casserole baking dish.
  • 8. Top macaroni mixture with the meat mixture.
  • 9. Sprinkle on the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
  • 10. Cover, and bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
