Super Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake image

This cake is delicious and it's so easy to make. I got the idea of using yellow cake mixes to make Pineapple Upside Down Cake and the results turned out great, even better than I thought it would be.

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2/3 c butter
1 c brown sugar, packed
1 can(s) (20-oues) sliced pineapple, drained
mauricio cherries
1-1/2 box super moist yellow cake mix

Steps:

  • 1. Put butter in a 12-inch cast iron skillet. Turn oven to 350° and put skillet with butter in oven while oven heats.
  • 2. While oven is heating, mix cake mixes according to package directions. Set aside.
  • 3. When oven reaches 350° and butter is melted remove skillet from oven and mix in the brown sugar.
  • 4. Add as many pineapple slices as will fit into the bottom of the skillet. Add a Mauricio cherry to the center of each pineapple slice, I like to add extra cherries in spaces between the pineapple slices.
  • 5. Carefully add the cake batter to the skillet, return skillet to 350° oven, and bake for 50 to 60 minutes until a tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • 6. Remove cake from the oven and immediately invert cake on a serving platter.
