2 packages (16 oz.) frozen chopped spinach
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons onions, chopped
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
1 teaspoon CROSSE & BLACKWELL Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon celery salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 ounces cheddar cheese, diced

Steps:

  • Cook frozen chopped spinach according to the package directions; drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid. Melt butter in a skillet. Add flour; stir until blended and smooth, but not brown. Add chopped onion; cook until soft but not brown. Add the reserved liquid and evaporated milk slowly, stirring constantly; cook until smooth and thick. Add Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, pepper, celery salt, garlic salt, salt, and diced cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted then pour over the cooked spinach.
