APFEL KASE BROT (apple cheese bread) image

This bread fits right in with my German heritage. It's so easy--delicious and moist.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 1/2 c flour
3/4 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c milk
1/3 c margarine or butter, melted
2 c (8 oz) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c chopped peeled apples
3/4 c chopped nuts

Steps:

  • 1. Combine dry ingredients. Add combined eggs, milk and butter; mix well. Sir in remaining ingredients.
  • 2. Spoon mixture into well greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 65 to 70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes. Remove from pan and transfer to plate.
  • 3. Slice, serve, and enjoy! Guten Appetit!
