Spicy Shrimp (Convection-Microwave) image

Can be used as an appetizer for 4 people or a main dish for 2. From the Sharp Carousel Convection Microwave Cookbook. Developed for convection microwave ovens between 700 & 1050 watts. Prep time includes marinating.

1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1/8-1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 dash hot pepper sauce
1 lb jumbo shrimp, raw (shelled and deveined)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except shrimp in medium bowl. Stir in Shrimp; cover.
  • Marinate at room temperature 45 minutes or 3 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat oven for broiling.
  • Remove shrimp from marinade; reserve marinade.
  • Place shrimp on round baking pan and broil 3-4 minutes.
  • Brush with marinade and broil 3-4 minutes more or until shrimp are cooked through.
  • Microwave remaining marinade at high (100%) power for 2 minutes. Serve over rice or as a dipping sauce when served as an appetizer, if desired.
