Spicy Pumpkin Cookies image

This recipe was a perfect replica of the cookies from my childhood, with the added bonus of being homemade!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 package(s) yellow cake mix
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1 cup(s) canned solid pack pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1/4 cup(s) butter, softened
1/2 cup(s) raisins, if desired
1 - container vanilla ready-to-spread frosting

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F Stir cake mix (dry), cinnamon and nutmeg in large bowl. Mix in canned pumpkin and butter until well blended. Stir in raisins. Drop dough by generous tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto cookie sheet.
  • Bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set and light golden brown around edges. Cool 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Top with frosting.
